A pleasant circular walk through woods and farmland with lovely views over Monmouth and to the Black Mountains.
The route heads out of the town centre following the River Monnow initially, then climbs steadily to enter Buckholt Wood. After leaving the wood and crossing the Hereford Road it returns along a small river valley below English Newton Common to enter Monmouth on the Dixton Road.
Points of interest include views over Monmouth and the Monnow Valley. Buckholt Wood, where you may see fallow deer.
